Connie Shorb recently fired a 77 to win the Women's York County Amateur Golf Association Senior Championship.

Shorb won on her home course -- Country Club of York. She finished six shots ahead of second-place Ruth Stover. Susan Seifert was third at 84, followed by Marie Shalkey (85), Karen Miller (90), Pippi Gemmill (91), Lynn Newcomer (92), Janice Evans (93) and Susi Guinn (93).

Sherri Strathmeyer won the Net Division crown with a 67, followed by Leslie Atkins (70), Kelly Farrell (71), Shelly Stallsmith (72), Kim Woolley (73), Lisa Quinlivan (74), Mary Bobst (75), Tracey Knouse (76) and Dee Forney (77).

Betty Winner took the Super Senior championship at 87, on shot better than Donna Ensor (88). Bev Miller was third at 96, followed by Carolyn Karge (97), Sue Joiner (98) and Brenda Atkinson (101).

The Super Senior Net Division champion was Share Giblin (67), three shots better than Cindy Davis (70). Pat Lowder was third at 72, followed by Sylvia Laucks (75), Shirley Thornton (75) and Barbara Passariello (75).


KURILLA HAS ACE AT ROYAL MANCHESTER: Darren Kurilla aced the par 3 No. 2 hole at Royal Manchester Golf Links recently during the Northeastern Dollars for Scholars golf tournament.

Witnesses were Scott Wilson, Dave Zirkle and Todd Hitz.
