Dallastown High School graduate Phil Sprenkle has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week.

The Lock Haven University redshirt sophomore turned in a sensational effort at Sunday's Mat Town Open at Lock Haven.

He went 5-0 on the way to the 197-pound title, including a 4-3 win in the finals over Bucknell's Tyler Lyster.

Sprenkle opened the day on a tear, winning by technical fall and two pins. In the semifinals he beat Pitt's Ryan Solomon, who is a two-time PIAA Class AA state champion, who was 40-0 last year at nearby Milton High School.

Sprenkle's win in the finals avenged a 6-0 loss to Lyster earlier in the year in a dual match. He scored a takedown at the final buzzer to seal the win over Lyster.
