The Dover Eagles improved to 17-1 on the season on Wednesday night, but it was hardly easy.

The visiting York Suburban Trojans put up a strong fight before dropping the girls' basketball battle, 47-41.

Alayah Hall led the Eagles with 21 points. Teammate Maxine Herman scored 11 points, including a 7-for-8 night from the charity stripe. For the Trojans, Katherine Weaver scored 13 points, while Bethany Spencer knocked in 11.

First-place Dover improved to 11-1 in York-Adams Division II. Suburban fell to 2-10 in the division and 8-12 overall.


Susquehannock 65, Bermudian Springs 40: At Glen Rock, Susquehannock jumped out to a 19-5 lead after the first eight minutes and cruised to the win. The well-balanced Warriors had four players in double digits: Katie Wagner (13), Makenzie Fancher (12), Ashley Stone (11) and Shannon Druck (11). Susquehannock improved to 16-3 overall and 10-2 in York-Adams Division II.

Cedar Cliff 54, York High 36: At York, the visitors jumped out to an 18-6 lead in the first quarter and remained in control the rest of the way. Olivia Darby and Becca Reilly combined for 34 Cedar Cliff points. York High's Chyna Steele led all scorers with 26 points.
