West York High School's Josh Rinehart has committed to play golf at Penn State University.

"Josh is a tremendous athlete with solid fundamentals and a high ceiling in the game," PSU head coach Greg Nye said.

A former competitive volleyball student-athlete for Yorktowne, Rinehart has gotten somewhat of a late start to competitive golf. In national competition, he finished within the top-25 in each of the three American Junior Golf Association events he played in during the 2013 season, highlighted by a 15th-place finish at the AJGA Annapolis Junior. He captured the title at the District 3-AAA Championship in October, before advancing to play in the regional and PIAA state championship.

"We feel that Josh's best golf is ahead of him and we are very much looking forward to overseeing and enhancing his development here in Happy Valley," Nye said.

Rinehart was a three-time York-Adams League champion.
