Spring Grove remained alone in first place in York-Adams Division I baseball on Tuesday with a 2-0 win at Dallastown.
Jake Thoman pitched a three-hit shutout for the Rockets, striking out five and walking three. Tyler Butcher pitched well in defeat, going the distance and allowing seven hits. He fanned four and walked four. Nick Spangler (two hits, RBI) and Logan Warren (two hits, RBI) led Spring Grove's offense. Tye Golden doubled for Dallastown.
Spring Grove improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Division I.
West York 5, Bermudian 3: At West York, the Bulldogs improved to 5-0 overall with the non-league win. Brandyn Smith got the win, with seventh-inning relief help from Cash Gladfelter, who got the save. Carson Fries (two hits, RBI), Nick Traettino (two hits, including a double), Chase James (double) and Cole Bixler (double) led West York's offense.
Eastern York 3, Central York 2: At Central, the Golden Knights were outhit 7-3 but still grabbed the win. All the scoring in the game occurred in the third inning. Walker Montieth went the distance in a losing cause, fanning five. Colby Shimmel went 4 1/3 one-hit, shutout innings to get the win in relief. He struck out four without a walk. Shimmel also had two hits for the winners, while Dan Sepic had two Central hits.
Red Lion 8, New Oxford 3: At Red Lion, Drew Landis led the Lions at the plate by going 2-for-3, including a double, while teammate Mike Godfrey hit a two-run triple in the first inning. For the Colonials, Austin Kibler went 3-for-3, while Aaron Palmer went 2-for-4.
Northeastern 3, Shippensburg 2: At Manchester, the Bobcats rallied to score all three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Grant Myers hit a game winning single in the seventh to score Devin Blymire, who singled earlier in the inning, to plate the winning run. Blymire's single scored the tying run to deadlock the game at 2-2. Teammate Cody Reeser pitched six innings to record a no-decision, while striking out six and walking four.
Delone 10, York Catholic 3: At York Catholic, Dalton Haymaker (five innings) and Joe Ames (two innings) combined on a four-hitter for Delone. Ames did not allow a run. Austin Kuntz (two hits, double, two runs), Jimmy O'Boyle (two hits, triple, two runs, one RBI), Ames (two hits), Mike Rider (three runs, RBI), Austin Roth (two RBIs, double, one run) and Kyle Bemiller (two RBIs) paced Delone's offense. Patrick Clement had a hit, an RBI and a run scored for the Irish.
Littlestown 10, York Suburban 0: At Suburban, the Thunderbolts received two hits apiece from Todd Cook, Jacob Crawmer, Graham Schuman and Chase Dipietro to secure the win.
South Western 11, Kennard-Dale 1: At Hanover, the Mustangs pounded out nine hits and scored in all of their at bats to secure the 10-run rule victory. Three South Western pitchers, Erich Kelch, Kyle Raubenstine and Justin Dougherty, combined to hold the Rams to four hits.
