In a matchup of York-Adams League division winners, Delone Catholic edged Susquehannock 2-1 in nine innings on Wednesday night in McSherrystown.

Both teams are now 14-4 overall and 12-1 in league action. Delone is the Division IV champion, while Susquehannock is the Division III champion.

Dalton Haymaker pitched a complete game to get the win, striking out 11 and walking one. Josh Houser also went the distance for Susquehannock, fanning 10 and walking two.

Delone won in the ninth when Joe Ames led off with a single, followed by a bunt single by Austin Roth. Devon Craig then ended the game with a walk-off RBI single.

The Squires had runners on second and third with no outs in the seventh, but Bryan Kerr made a diving catch in right field to hold the runners. Houser then got a strikeout and groundout to end the threat.

The Warriors scored on an RBI single from Connor Hood in the sixth. Delone scored its first run on a wild pitch in the second. Ames and Austin Kuntz each had two hits for Delone, which outhit Susquehannock, 9-3.


Red Lion 10, Pequea Valley 2: At Red Lion, the Lions trailed 2-0 after four innings, but scored 10 unanswered runs (four in the fifth, six in the sixth) to capture the non-league victory. Wyatt Tyson led the Lions, going 2-for-3, including a double, with three RBIs. Austin Taylor went 2-for-2 with a double, Adam Whitman went 2-for-4 with a double and starting pitcher Stone Hill went six innings to record the win, striking out five and walking four. Red Lion improved to 11-6 overall.


Dover 9, York Suburban 1: At Suburban, D.J. Heim led the Eagles by going 2-for-4, including a two-run homer in the third, to go with two runs scored and one stolen base. Also for Dover, Zach Altland went 2-for-4, including a double; Tad Pequignot went 2-for-3 and Bryce Smith scored two runs. Grant Hoover pitched a complete game, striking out eight and walking one. For the Trojans, Brad Smith went 2-for-3, including a triple.

Biglerville 10, York Tech 0 (5 Innings): At Biglerville, Tyler Strawsburg led the Canners by going 2-for-2 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
