York County golfers continued to fare well at the Pennsylvania State Women's Amateur Championship at Bent Creek Country Club in Lititz, Lancaster County.

West York High School graduate Aislynn Merling advanced to the semifinals in the Amateur Division Championship Flight. The No. 7 seed earned her second-straight 1-up victory on Wednesday, beating No. 2 seed Brynn Walker. Merling will now take on No. 3 seed Isabella DiLisio on Thursday in a semifinal match.

In the Amateur Division First Flight, six-time Women's York County Amateur champion Amy Kennedy also moved to the semifinals with a 1-up win. The top-seeded Kennedy knocked off No. 8 seed Lauren Smith. In Thursday's semifinals, Kennedy will face No. 5 seed Erin Lo. Julianne Lee, who will be a freshman this fall at Central York, dropped her quarterfinal match in the Amateur Division First Flight, falling to No. 11 seed Brianna LaFoca, 3&2. Lee was seeded No. 14.

In the Senior Division Championship Flight, Country Club of York's Connie Shorb cruised to a 4&2 victory in Wednesday's quarterfinals over Kerry Rutan. Shorb is seeded No. 5, while Rutan was seeded No. 13 In Thursday's semifinals, Shorb faces top-seeded Noreen Mohler, who is the defending state senior champion. Shorb owns 31 Women's York County Amateur crowns and 10 state senior crowns.
