Martin Library received a $1,000 donation from Metro Bank and a $5,000 donation from York Traditions Bank in support of their educational improvement programs.

Lutheran Social Services of South Central Pennsylvania (LSS) recently received a $10,700 donation from TimeTravel/Bailey Travel. The funds were raised by a group of individuals who traveled aboard Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas this fall.

Susquehanna Bank donated $2,000 to the York County Food Bank to support the Foods for Families program.

Mental Illness Awareness Walk raised over $20,000 for the programs of the National Alliance on Mental Illness PA York County.

York Country Day School received a $10,000 donation from Rutter's Farm Stores to be used toward their academic scholarship program for inner-city students.

Sophie Nicholson, 11-year-old entrepreneur, hosted a lemonade stand for the second year, raising $80.32 for DreamWrights; and $170.71 to the SPCA.

On behalf of The Peak 98.5/Smart Magazine Women's Show, presented by Memorial Hospital, Barbara Carbaugh, president of 98.5 The Peak presented Lessley Wiles and Julie Chronister from P.I.N.K. Partners with a $1,000 donation.

House of Hope, York, received a $5,000 donation from Susquehanna Bank as part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. York Traditions Bank made a $1,000 donation from the same program.

Dallastown Area Educational Foundation received a $2,500 donation from Susquehanna Bank through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program.

Performing Arts for Children received a $3,000 grant for their Stage the Page program from Wells Fargo & Company.


Riders from Mason-Dixon Star Touring 441 Chapter presented a check for $1,862 to New Hope Ministries. The motorcycle group held a benefit ride called Stars of Hope through Adams County over the summer.

The Realtors Association of York and Adams County (RAYAC) served up a little fun and games before its business meeting this month. Teams competed in "minute to win it" style games during a Battle of the Offices event to raise money for their favorite charities. Homesale Mortgage Group's team took second place in the events, winning $600 for the Sunshine Kids.
