The Cultural Alliance of York County, as the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) partner for York, Adams, Franklin, and Fulton Counties, awarded 13 PPA project stream grants for arts-related projects occurring in 2013-2014. Organizations in York County receiving project stream grants are as follows: Stewartstown Senior Center received funding to produce an art class at the Stewartstown Senior Center for the public; the White Rose Chorus received funding to produce their annual show at West York Area High School; the United Way of York County received funding for its SecureCorps Program to invite students and artists throughout York County to create works of art that incorporate Martin Luther King Jr. and LIVE UNITED; and YWCA York received funding to create a visual art installation corresponding with Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October 2014.


The Steelers Fan Club of York raised monies from their Charity Golf Tourney held this past summer. The winning group of Barry Myers, Dustin Myers, John Albright and Corey Trout chose The Four Diamonds Fund to receive $1,100; Bill Greenawalt Group (2nd place) picked The York County Child Advocacy Center to receive $800; Tom Lucas Group (3rd placed) picked The Four Diamonds Fund to receive $300 and YCSPCA $100; Brad Beschler Group (4th place) chose Susan G. Komen Walk, (breast cancer awareness) to receive $370.

The Realtors Association of York and Adams Counties (RAYAC) elected several new directors. Three of the new directors are from Bob Yost Prudential Homesale Services Group, Seth Hueter and Deborah Goodling from the East York office and Dianne Redding from the Hanover office will serve three-year terms. Dan Boyer from Homesale's Hanover office continues in the second year of his three-year term as director. Paula Musselman of Homesale's East York office is the 2013 vice president and president-elect for 2014.
