An unusual deposit at a Manchester Township bank's drive-through window might have been unintended, but it's still a crime, police said.

Police have filed a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana against Kyle Harris, 24, of the 100 block of Jasper Avenue in Manchester Township.

According to Northern York County Regional Police, Harris drove to the window of Metro Bank at 55 Arsenal Road on May 31. He placed his paycheck, deposit slip, identification and a small cache of pot in the drive-through tube and sent it to the teller, police said.

"He put it in there accidentally," Lt. David Lash said. "It was a very small amount."

The teller set the pot aside, handled the transaction and returned the tube to Harris -- minus the marijuana, police said.

After he drove off, the teller called 911.

"This wasn't a big caper for us (to solve)," Lash said. "It's tough to fight (a possession charge) when you send your ID along with the marijuana."
