The York County Heritage Trust's Articles of Confederation Day commemorates the adoption of the Articles of Confederation in York on Nov. 15, 1777.

Written by the Second Continental Congress, the Articles served as the precursor to the nation's Constitution, establishing, for the first time, the role of the federal government and our rights as American citizens.

The trust will celebrate the day from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Court House, located at the corner of West Market Street and Pershing Avenue. Admission is free. Those who are planning to come are asked to R.S.V.P. to (717) 848-1587, ext. 210.
