A man registered as a convicted sex offender in Yarmouth, Mass., was arrested in York City Friday, officials said.

John Phillips, 45, was arrested in the 400 block of Park Street, where he had been living for several months, according to Pane.

Phillips had been convicted of rape and was required to register as a sex offender.

In February, Phillips registered his address in Yarmouth, but in March police learned he no longer lived there and asked the U.S. Marshals Service to find him, officials said.

Marshals tracked him to York and arrested him without incident, according to the marshals service.

Assisting were York City Police, the York County District Attorney's Office, the county sheriff's office and state police.
