LATROBE, Pa.—A western Pennsylvania man has been arrested after he allegedly abducted and raped a six-year-old boy over the weekend. The boy was later released.

Police say 45-year-old Brian Timothy Lynch of Confluence was arrested Sunday and is facing two counts of kidnapping, rape and other charges.

Authorities say the boy was playing in his Fayette County yard on Saturday when Lynch allegedly abducted him, drove him to various places, and finally left him unattended early Sunday morning near a Latrobe public park. That's about 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

An Amber Alert was issued for the boy on Saturday.

Lynch was unable to post $250,000 bond and is being held in the Fayette County jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 15. No attorney was listed on court papers.
