The Penn State York basketball teams suffered a pair of narrow defeats on Wednesday night at Penn State Mont Alto.

The PSY men fell, 64-61, while the PSY women dropped a 72-67 verdict in overtime.

In the men's game, PSY couldn't overcome a 40-28 halftime deficit, despite a 33-24 second-half surge. Red Lion Christian graduate Logan Steckel led the local Lions with 16 points, including a 4-for-6 effort from 3-point range. Penn State York fell to 10-3 overall. The loss ended PSY's eight-game winning streak. PSY still leads the Penn State University Athletic Conference South Division at 6-1, but PSMA moved within a half game of first at 5-1. Mont Alto is 7-5 overall.

In the women's game, PSY couldn't hold on to a 32-29 halftime lead, getting outscored 31-28 in the second half and 12-7 in the overtime. Delone Catholic graduate Courtney Riggs had 33 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and four steals in a losing cause. York Suburban graduate Brittany Kint added 14 points. PSY fell to 2-9 overall and 2-3 in the PSUAC South. Mont Alto improved to 2-6 and 2-4.
