Two people were injured in an explosion at a York City house Tuesday night.
City police Chief Wes Kahley said the two were injured when "some sort of explosive device" exploded.
The extent of their injuries isn't immediately known.
Emergency responders were sent to 311 Smyser Street about 8:40 p.m. for the reported explosion, according to York County 911.
Police officers secured the house, and it is believed there is no immediate threat to the public, police said.
Kahley said agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives from Harrisburg will take over the investigation.
"Our arson guys aren't experienced in investigating explosions like this," the chief said.
