The Dallastown Area field hockey and softball field is now the Fourhman's Natural Foods Field for the 2014-15 school year.

Fourhman's Natural Foods owner Mike Fourhman, a 2002 Dallastown graduate, entered a one-year contract with the district for the naming rights to the field.

That $5,000 payment will go to the Dallastown Area Education Foundation, which will put the funds toward paying off the district's new turf field, said Jason Jesberger, president of marketing at Market Street Sports Group.

The naming rights was a "happy bonus" to being able to support the turf project and get more involved with the district, Fourhman said, whose wife Megan is a teacher at the Dallastown Area Intermediate School and whose son attends school in the district.

Fourhman and his family live in the Dallastown district and purchased the Fourhman's Natural Foods store in March this year, located in the Ole Tollgate Village at 2563 S. Queen St., Fourhman said. The store will also be hosting a reopening event Saturday, Oct. 4, Fourhman said.

As part of the school sponsorship, the store is offering a 15 percent discount to all Dallastown Area faculty members and a 10 percent discount to all Dallastown residents with valid proof of residency, according to a press release about the naming rights.

After the one-year contract is completed, Fourhman will have the first option to renew the contract, Jesberger said.
