The York-Adams League will send 17 teams in search of District 3 soccer gold medals.

The local league has advanced eight boys' teams and nine girls' teams into the district playoffs.

The pairings and sites were released Thursday.

The highest-seeded team from the York-Adams League is Biglerville (15-3-0), which earned the top seed in Class A boys. The Canners won the York-Adams Division III title this season and finished second in the district tournament a year ago. Biglerville has a bye into the quarterfinal round.

The Central York boys (16-2-0), meanwhile, earned the No. 2 seed in AAA and have a bye in the preliminary round this weekend. The Panthers captured the York-Adams Division I crown.

Other area teams advancing to the AAA boys' field were: No. 15 West York (11-3-2), No. 17 South Western (11-5-1) and No. 20 Red Lion (9-5-3). All three must take part in the preliminary round this weekend. West York was the York-Adams Division II champ.

Three York-Adams boys' teams made the AA field: No. 8 Susquehannock (11-4-2), No. 12 York Suburban (9-4-3) and No. 14 Northeastern (10-6-2). All three will compete in first-round contests Monday.

On the girls' side, York Catholic (12-3-0) earned the top seed from the local league. The York-Adams Division III champion Irish are No. 3 in Class A and have a bye into the quarterfinals.


Fairfield (13-3-0) is seeded No. 4 in Class A, while Delone Catholic (8-7-1) is No. 8. Fairfield has a bye into the quarterfinals, while Delone must take part in a first-round contest on Monday.

In AAA, the unbeaten Dover girls (16-0-0) are seeded No. 5 and have a bye the preliminary round. The York-Adams Division II champion Eagles will face division rival Northeastern in a first-round game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dover. The Bobcats (12-3-0) are seeded No. 12.

The Division I co-champions, Central York and Dallastown, also made the AAA field. Central York (14-3-1) is seeded No. 9 and has a bye in the preliminary round. Dallastown (12-4-1) is seeded No. 14 and must take part in a preliminary-round contest on Friday.

Red Lion (11-4-2) is seeded No. 18 in AAA and has a preliminary-round game on Friday.

The York-Adams League has just one representative in the AA girls' field -- York Suburban (7-7-2) at No. 12. The Trojans have a first-round game Monday.
