Five York-Adams League golfers have advanced to the PIAA State Championships.

York Catholic's Nick Geiman led the local players at Tuesday's East Regional Qualifying Tournament at Royal Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood.

Geiman fired a 2-under-par 70 to finish tied for second in Class AA. Northwestern Lehigh's Cole Miller is the only golfer to finish ahead of Geiman. Miller fired a 68.

Fairfield's Isaiah Logue, the defending state AA champion, also moved on by finishing sixth with a 73.

The top 16 players in the 30-player AA field moved on the PIAA tournament.

In AAA, West York's Axel Hartman and Josh Rinehart each fired 74s to tie for 14th, which also qualified them for the state tournament.

The top 24 players in the 50-player AAA field advanced. Central York's Gus Minkin fired a 79 to tie for 38th. He did not make the cut.

Bishop Shanahan's Kevin Connors led the AAA golfers at Royal Oaks with a 67. Manheim Township's Ryan Dornes was second at 69.

In girls' action, York Catholic's Lauren Parrini shot an 88 to tie for seventh in the AA event in Fleetwood. That score was just good enough to advance Parrini to the state tournament. The top eight players in the 14-player AA field moved on. Kutztown's Shannon Weber finished first in AA with a 76.

Spring Grove's Victoria Ross also shot an 88, but that wasn't good enough to advance in AAA. She finished tied for 17th in the 25-player AAA field. The top 12 advanced to the PIAA event. Council Rock North's Erica Herr finished first in AAA at 71.

The PIAA Individual Championships are set for Monday and Tuesday at Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center in York.
