NEW OXFORD -- When their coach's milestone victory was secured on Tuesday, Dallastown's girls' soccer team and parents saluted him.

The players gave Barry Barbush the traditional celebratory dousing with the contents of a water cooler after he earned his 100th victory.

The parents presented Barbush with a poster following the Wildcats' 11-0 victory over New Oxford.

"It (the poster) read congratulations Coach Barbush, 100 wins," the Dallastown coach said.

"All the girls signed it. It was very touching."

Barbush, who took over the program in 2008, is an impressive 100-22-5.

His teams have won four straight York-Adams Tournament championships and four consecutive Division I titles.

"I'm proud of the accomplishment, but I'm certainly prouder of the girls who have played for me," Barbush said.

"They're the ones who made it possible. The girls work hard, and they want to play for me. That's a good experience."

Barbush also served as assistant coach on the Wildcats' boys' team under head coach Mitch Groh. Groh also is in the 100-victory club.

"It was wonderful working with Mitch," Barbush said. "He's younger than I am, but he had a wealth of information that I used. I garnered a lot from him in practices. I also worked with long-time assistant Tex Landis, and it was a good time with those guys."

Barbush is also proud of what his players accomplish off the field.

"Last year's team GPA (grade point average) was 3.39. I have a weekly Wednesday study hall for the girls. We have dinner, and we study."

The Wildcats pushed this year's Division I record to 6-0-0 and overall mark to 8-3-0 with the one-sided victory over the Colonials.
