The York Tech Spartans earned a 25-16, 27-25, 17-25, 25-15 non-league girls' volleyball victory over the Christian School of York on Monday.
Savannah Grimes led the Spartans with 15 kills, eight digs, three aces and three assists. Adrianna Beattie had eight kills, eight digs, four blocks, three aces and four assists, while Paisley Simmons had five kills and eight blocks. Lauren Bupp had five kills, five digs and three aces.
For Christian School of York, Tori Feder had eight aces and two kills, while Kaitlyn Hess had three aces.
OTHER GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL
RED LION 3, HANOVER 1: At Hanover, the Lions won, 25-19, 25-16, 21-25, 25-20. Marley Vebares led the Lions with 14 kills and five digs, while Brooke Daugherty had 35 assists. Lindsey Blevins had nine kills and five digs, while Hayley Barto had five aces and three kills. For the Hawkettes, Renee Drawbaugh had 14 assists, 12 digs, five kills and three aces, while Shelby Barnes had eight digs and five kills. Hanover won the JV match, 17-25, 25-19, 15-4.
SOUTH WESTERN 3, NORTHEASTERN 1: At Hanover, the Mustangs won, 25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-18. Holly Arey led the Mustangs with 13 kills, six aces, four blocks and 11 digs. Erin Hartman (13 kills, 29 digs) and Hannah McMaster (25 assists, nine digs) also excelled for the winners. For the Bobcats, Holly Shoemaker had 33 assists, 12 digs, five kills and three blocks, while Bayle Sowers had nine kills, five blocks and 21 digs. Maddie Reichard had 12 kills and three assists. South Western won the JV match, 25-11, 25-21.
McCASKEY 3, YORK HIGH 0: At McCaskey, the home team won 25-14, 25-20, 25-17. For the Bearcats, Liberty Burton had five digs and two kills, while Tania Collazo had six digs and Paola Ramos had three digs. McCaskey won the JV match, 25-4, 25-15.
MECHANICSBURG 3, NEW OXFORD 2: At New Oxford, the home team jumped out to a 2-0 lead but couldn't hold on. The Colonials lost 19-25, 14-25, 27-25, 25-19, 20-18. Bonaire Berry (38 assists, five kills), Alexis Hufnagle (11 kills), Taryn Crone (11 kills) and Brooke Krebbs (15 kills) paced New Oxford. Mechanicsburg won the JV match, 25-13, 22-25, 15-6.
