The Red Lion cross country teams each went 3-0 on Tuesday during a meet on their home course at Copper Beech.

In the boys' meet, Biglerville's Brady Wilt won the race, but Red Lion runners Andrew Erickson, Alex Miller, Ethan Gatchel and Zach Dutton secured four of the next five places behind him.

Biglerville finished 2-1 by defeating York Catholic and York Tech, and York Catholic scored a win over Tech.

In the girls' meet, the Lady Lions' Tristan Schuderberg led her team's near sweep of the first 10 places. Tech's Emma Harrelson was second and was followed by seven Red Lion runners: Macy Owens, Hailey Welchans, Brynn Trout, Rachel Jenks, Kaitlyn Pillsbury, Anna Haynie and Julia Kedrick.

York Catholic finished second by defeating Biglerville and Tech. Tech bested Biglerville.


GARDNER SPARKS ROCKETS: At Sam Lewis State Park, Taylor Gardner finished first to lead Spring Grove to victories over Eastern York, Northeastern and West York. Teammate Hunter Miller took third. Northeastern came in second by defeating Eastern and West York. Northeastern's Ben Linne took second, while teammate Alex Seaforth came in fifth. West York defeated Eastern, which got a fourth-place finish by Tyler White.


GROFF LEADS PAN THERS TO VICTORIES: At Fairfield, J.D. Groff led Central York to victories over Fairfield, Delone Catholic and Bermudian Springs by taking first individually. Also for Central, Gavin Mayne, Nick Swanson and Mike Lundy took second, third and fourth, respectively. Delone came in second by defeating Bermudian and Fairfield. Bermudian beat Fairfield.

TROJANS' CLARK CAPTURES FIRST: At South Western, York Suburban's Brad Clark finished first, helping the Trojans earn three victories. Donovan Mears placed third for Suburban. The Trojans defeated South Western, Susquehannock and Littlestown. South Western's Ben Schott took second, and his teammates Sean Peeling and Kirk Mummert were fourth and fifth.

REILLY POWERS WILDCATS: At New Oxford, Dallastown's Patrick Reilly won in 15:46. The Wildcats defeated New Oxford, Dover and Kennard-Dale. Dallastown's Seth Stayer was fourth. New Oxford's Aaron Gebhart and Jake Plank were second and third, respectively. K-D's Dylan Wescott took fifth.


WEAVER SHINES FOR BULLDOGS: At Sam Lewis State Park, Bethany Weaver's first-place finish led West York to wins over Northeastern, Spring Grove and Eastern York. Teammate Eliza Jermyn took fifth. The Golden Knights picked up victories over Northeastern and Spring Grove. Maura Geiselman led the Golden Knights with a second-place finish. Spring Grove defeated Northeastern and was led individually by Brittany Steele's fourth-place finish. Northeastern came fourth and was led by Kyleigh Smeltzer's third-place finish.

PANTHERS CAPTURE FIRST PLACE: At Fairfield, Central captured first in the team competition by placing six times in the top 10 individual scores. Maley Pfefferkorn took second, while Emily Lueffelholz came in fourth and Brynn Godfrey took fifth. The Panthers defeated Fairfield, Delone Catholic and Bermudian Springs. Delone came in second by defeating Fairfield and Bermudian. Kate Mowrey led the Squirettes by taking first. Bermudian defeated Fairfield.

GETTLE EXCELS FOR YORK SUBURBAN: At South Western, Suburban's Olivia Gettle finished first to lead Suburban to a 3-0 day. The Trojans beat South Western, Susquehannock and Littlestown. Susquehannock's Rachel Banchiere placed second. Suburban's Emma Leik and Sarah Cardone were third and fourth, respectively, and Susquehannock's Emily Fourhman took fifth. Susquehannock defeated South Western and Littlestown.

DOVER'S DEPTH PROVES DECISIVE: At New Oxford, Dover placed four runners among the first 10 finishers to score victories over Dallastown, New Oxford and Kennard-Dale. K-D's Kayla White won the race, and her teammate, Ciatlin Salomon, finished second. New Oxford's Emily Clinton, Dover's Shea Beierschmitt and Dallastown's Liz DiBiase rounded out the top five. Dallastown finished 2-1 by defeating New Oxford and K-D.
