Eight York-Adams League girls' volleyball players have been selected to the All-District 3-AA teams.

Named to the first team were Delone Catholic's Cambria Wierman and Hannah Lawrence, Eastern York's Lauren Reichard and York Suburban's Kayla Gibbs.

Selected to the second team were Delone Catholic's Maddie Comly and Cheyenne Altland, York Suburban's Morgan Lehman and Bermudian Springs' Madyson Whitcombe.

The Delone players helped the unbeaten Squirettes win a PIAA Class AA state championship. Wierman and Lawrence are seniors, while Comly and Altland are juniors. Wierman and Comly are outside hitters while Lawrence is a libero and Altland is a middle hitter.

Gibbs is a senior outside hitter and Reichard is a iunior middle hitter.

Lehman is a senior middle hitter, while Whitcombe is a sophomore middle hitter.

West York alumni game set: The West York alumni games will take place on Friday, Nov. 29, in the high school gymnasium.

There will be two games this year, along with a chance to meet this year's team at halftime of the first game. The first game will feature pre-1995 players and the second game will have players from 1996-2009 competing against each other. Game 1 will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the second game at 7:30 p.m.


The admission costs are $5 for adults and $2 for students. Proceeds will benefit the West York Boys' Basketball Booster Club with a portion of the night's proceeds going to the Scott Craun Memorial Fund to help those battling multiple myeloma, a rare cancer of the blood.

Red Lion Christian wins two: Red Lion Christian swept to a pair of basketball wins over CHESS on Tuesday.

The RLC boys won, 76-47, while the RLC girls triumphed, 53-32.

Jake Myers led the Swordsmen boys with 23 points on 10-for-10 shooting from the field. Corbin Willard (18), Chance Thompson (16) and Zach Mercy (11) also hit double digits for RLC.

Abi Hollingshead led the RLC girls with 18 points, while Liz Baker added 15.
