* York First Church of the Brethren, 2710 Kingston Road, will host a contemporary cantata, 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 in the Sanctuary. The Chancel Choir will present "The Long Awaited Promise - The King," featuring soloists Julie Poland, Barry Hollinger, Blake Colaianne and guests Anne Moul and Venessa Trauger, and accompanied by Mike Baldwin on organ and Diane Bowders on piano. The narrator will be Pastor Don Hubbell. New Song Community Choir, a 60-voice choir from churches in the southern York County area, will present a Christmas concert, Bethlehem Morning, 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at Guinston Presbyterian Church, 14130 Guinston Forge Road, Airville. * The York College Chamber Singers will present "A Ceremony of Carols," 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at St. John Episcopal Church, 140 N. Beaver St. Under the direction of Grace Muzzo, the group will perform music by Victoria, Tavener, Forrest and McKelvy accompanied by Lois Nielsen, piano. A brief selection of organ music will be provided by Rodney Barnett, organist/choir director of St. John. In the second half of the program, the singers will perform the popular "Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten, accompanied by harpist Jane Brye. A reception will be held afterward. * "Santa Bowed at Christmas," a holiday musical, will be presented at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, and 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at Pinchot Park Assembly of God, 2755 Rosstown Road, Wellsville. The all-ages musical emphasizes the true meaning of Christmas. The performances will be followed by light refreshments on Dec. 15 and a Christmas banquet on Dec. 22.
