The York County Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a wildlife art class from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Nature Center at Nixon County Park in Springfield Township.

Taught by artist and parks volunteer Teanna Byerts, the class will combine nature and the love of drawing. The class emphasizes basic shapes, detailing and sketching. Students will have a chance to use the natural history collection at the Nature Center and other subject matter for reference. Students will receive basic sketching and drawing supplies.

These programs are appropriate for students between the ages of 9 and 12. There is a $10 fee for participation, and registration is required.
