The Eastern York boys' basketball team took over sole possession of first place in York-Adams Division III on Tuesday night with a 62-50 triumph over Susquehannock in Glen Rock.
The Golden Knights improved to 14-5 overall and 10-2 in the division, a half game ahead of Bermudian Springs (15-3, 9-2), which was idle Tuesday. Susquehannock dropped to 13-6 overall and 8-4 in the division. The Warriors dropped behind third-place York Suburban (9-9, 8-3), which beat Littlestown on Tuesday.
Dalton Reichard led the Knights with 18 points, while Cody Bollinger added 12 and Grum Kebede chipped in 10.
Dan Ferraro led Susquehannock with 16 points, while Tim Frey and Justin McLee split 22 points.
OTHER BOYS' BASKETBALL
SOUTH WESTERN 63, CENTRAL YORK 58: At Central, Mike Duffy poured in 33 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Mustangs. South Western trailed 34-31 at halftime, but used a 20-9 third-quarter surge to take the lead. Parker Bean added 16 points for the Mustangs but was 0-for-6 at the foul line. South Western improved to 13-5 overall and 10-2 in York-Adams Division I. The second-place Mustangs will play host to Division I leader York High (17-2, 12-0) on Wednesday night. Ryan Gardner and Sam Saxton split 22 points for Central.
NORTHEASTERN 61, WEST YORK 48, OT: At Manchester, Khalid Nwandu poured in 28 points to lead the Bobcats to a York-Adams Division II victory. Northeastern outscored West York in overtime, 16-3. Kevin Rice had 15 points to pace West York. He got double-digit support from Parker Weekly (12) and Roque Lopez (10).
YORK SUBURBAN 72, LITTLESTOWN 60: At Littlestown, the Trojans led just 48-47 with just more than five minutes left, but pulled away for the win. Evan Eberhardinger (20), C.J. Boxley (13) and Emmanuel McDowell (10) each reached double-digits for Suburban. For Littlestown, Austin Towner poured in 26 points and Ryan Kehr added 15.
YORK CATHOLIC 51, YORK TECH 32: At Spry, the Irish jumped out to a 23-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back to capture the York-Adams Division IV victory. Aaron O'Brien led the Irish with 11 points. Joseph Rost and Erich Hartman each scored 10 points.
DOVER 51, NEW OXFORD 44: At New Oxford, Ryan Beck led the Eagles with 24 points, including four 3-pointers. Jared Mummert knocked in 11 points, including three from behind the arc. For the Colonials, Austin Kibler had 13 points, while Marc O'Brien scored 10.
RED LION CHRISTIAN 77, CARLISLE CHRISTIAN 39: At Carlisle, Corbin Willard scored 28 points, including four 3-pointers to lead the Swordsmen. Jake Myers knocked in 17 for RLC, while Chance Thompson scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
COVENANT CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 56, CHRISTIAN SCHOOL OF YORK 36: O.B. Gesese led Christian School of York with 16 points in the loss.
