Officiating Program at York College

York College will host its eighth edition of the START (Students of Today are Referees of Tomorrow) program, designed to recruit college students and local fans into sports refereeing and officiating, on three consecutive Sundays, beginning Feb. 10. The programs offered in the Spring 2013 START session at York College will be based on interest/registration from the following options: field hockey, soccer, football, volleyball, track and field, baseball and softball. The program will be held in Room 102 of Diehl Hall, located on Grantley Road next to York College's athletic complex. The meetings will begin each night at 6 p.m. and last approximately 75-90 minutes. The program is open to anyone at least 18 years old. There is no cost to college students with ID cards. Other participants must pay the normal PIAA $30 registration fee. Candidates will be able to take the PIAA officiating test at the end of the Feb. 24 meeting. Zions View Baseball/Softball Registration

The Zions View Athletic Association, home of Northeastern Little League Baseball and Girls' Fast Pitch Softball, is holding registration for ages 5 through 18. Northeastern Little League registration baseball fees are: T-Ball, ages 5-7, $40; Minors and Majors, ages 7-12, $70; and Juniors and Seniors, ages 13-18, $85. Girls' Fast Pitch registration fees are: new players ages 5-7, $40, and returning players, $5 plus uniform; new players ages, 8-18, $75, and returning players, $35 plus uniform. Parents or guardians must bring a photo copy of the player's birth certificate and proof of residency to register. Old-Timers 3-on-3 Basketball League

The York Township Recreation Department is sponsoring an Old-Timers 3-on-3 Basketball League for ages 35 and over. Preseason practices will begin on Monday, Feb. 11, at York Tech on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. League games will start on Monday, March 4. Games will be officiated by PIAA referees. Each team must have a minimum of four players and a maximum of seven players. Teams may pick their own players and sign up as a team or players may participate in a draft as free agents. Baseball Talk

Zion Lutheran Church will hold its third annual baseball talk at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, in the church's sanctuary, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York. This year's event again features: Mel Antonen, baseball writer for, baseball panelist for MASN and Sirius/XM talk show host; Dan Connolly, Baltimore Orioles/national baseball writer for The Baltimore Sun; and Jim Seip, York Revolution beat writer for the York Daily Record/York Sunday News. The writers will present their thoughts on the upcoming baseball season -- Orioles, Phillies, plus the York Revolution and the Atlantic League -- and will answer questions from the audience. Springettsbury Flag Football

The YTP Youth Flag Football League will be held on Sunday afternoons, beginning in March, at Springettsbury and Cousler parks. The age divisions go from 5 through high school. The registration fee is $83 for an individual, or $78 per member for a team. A Spring Adult Flag Football League will be held at Springettsbury Park on Sunday mornings beginning in March. The team registration fee is $250. Teams are also responsible for weekly officiating fees. Susquehannock Youth Wrestling

On Saturday, March 2, the Susquehannock Warrior Youth Wrestling Club will host a Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association (MAWA) Preliminary District Tournament at Susquehannock High School. Wrestling will begin at 9 a.m. Mandatory weigh-ins will be held on Friday, March 1, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Walk-ins and weight-class changes will be accepted at that time. West York Hitting Camp

West York will offer its third annual Winter Baseball Hitting Camp on March 2-3. For sixth through eighth graders, the camp will run each day from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. For third through fifth graders, the camp will run from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. each day. Youth Lacrosse Tournament

The second annual First Capital Lacrosse Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7, at Springettsbury Park. Team registration is $850. Youth Baseball Umpires
