York College junior distance All-American Tim Hartung has been named the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year.

Hartung was the champion in the men's 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs at the 2013 CAC Track and Field Championships.

He became the first CAC student-athlete to complete a "trifecta" -- winning his third CAC Athlete of the Year Award in three championship sports.

Hartung had previously been named the 2012 CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year and the 2012 CAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year.

York senior Phil Cavaluchi joined Hartung on the All-CAC First Team after winning the CAC long jump title for the third time in his career. The Spartans also placed Sean Welsh and Wil Murray on the all-star second team. Walsh was second in the 100-meter dash at the CAC Championships, while Murray was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

A pair of York women, junior Laura Rowlands and sophomore Jess Miller, combined for five All-CAC First-Team honors at the 2013 CAC Championships. Rowlands, from Dover, won the high jump, long jump and ran the third leg of the winning 400 relay, and added a silver medal in the triple jump. Miller picked up the top awards in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs.

Freshman Bethany Miller, a York Suburban High School graduate, picked up two of York's five Second-Team All-CAC awards in the high jump and pole vault on the way to being named the 2013 CAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year. It's the third-straight year, and fourth time in the last five years, that a Spartan won the Women's Outdoor Rookie of the Year award.

Miller also joined Rowlands on the first-place 400 relay team, along with Jackie Gibat and Bria Jones.

Miller and Rowlands were joined on the Second-Team All-CAC squad by senior Nicole Danielewicz in the 10,000-meter run and freshman Jenna Roberts in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Roberts is a Kennard-Dale High School graduate.
