Thomasville's Greg Hodnett raced to his first win of the season in Saturday's All-Star-sanctioned Bob Weikert Memorial Race at Port Royal.

Hodnett collected $13,400, including fast time and lap money, for his victory in the 29-lap race.

Hodnett blasted into the lead at the start of the race and was credited with leading every lap, but that doesn't take into account all the challenges he survived over the distance. Second-place finisher Dale Blaney was alongside Hodnett on numerous occasions, and third- and fourth-place finishers Brent Marks and Shane Stewart also took runs at the leader. Danny Holtgraver completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Chad Layton, Lucas Wolfe, Mike Wagner, Ryan Smith and Logan Wagner.

Andrew Yoder won the econo late models and Jason Snook was the Xtreme stock winner.


McIntyre wins at Lincoln: Gerard McIntyre Jr. scored his first Lincoln sprint-car win of the season Saturday.

McIntyre's second overall win of the season was worth $3,200.

McIntyre started seventh and took the lead from Dover's Matt Boland on the seventh of 25 laps. Steve Owings finished second, with Brian Montieth coming from the 16th starting spot for third. Tyler Ross and Boland completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Freddie Rahmer, Billy Dietrich, Kevin Nagy, Dover's Austin Hogue and Jim Siegel.


York's Mark Strickler raced to his first career 358 sprint win in the 20-lap event. Strickler started third and vaulted into the lead on the first lap. In the end he had to withstand pressure from several drivers, with Niki Young coming from the 11th starting spot to claim runner-up honors. Mike Bittinger was third, followed by Tyler Esh and Chandler Leiby in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were York's Chase Dietz, C.J. Tracy, Doug Hammaker, Matt Findley and Jeff Halligan.

York's Lucas Montgomery won the 15-lap Legends feature, taking the lead with a three-wide move at the starter's stand on the first lap. Bob Stough tried everything in the closing laps, but had to settle for second, followed by Scott Houdeshell, Scott Gobrecht and Mason Chaney.

Veteran Eichelberger triumphs at Grove: Ageless veteran driver Rich Eichelberger raced to his first win of the season in the 20-lap, super-sportsman race at Williams Grove Saturday.

Eichelberger's win is his 84th career win in the division, which moves him into second place on the all-time win list for the super-sportsman racers.

Gregg Foster finished second, with Lewisberry's Scott Dellinger in third. Steve Wilbur and Chad Criswell completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Frankie Herr, Bobby Hockenberry, Russ Mitten, Mike Enders and Dover's Lanny Hake.

Teenager Kyle Lee won the limited-late-model feature over Shaun Jones. Wes Alleman was third, followed by Dover's Gene Knaub and Travis Mease.

Jeff Haig was the street-stock winner.

Franek victorious at Selinsgrove: Davie Franek won Saturday's 358/360 sprint-car feature at Selinsgrove.

Franek collected $2,000 for his win in the 25-lap event.

Franek started seventh and took the lead on the 11th lap. He went on to best Brock Zearfoss for the victory. T.J. Stutts, Jason Shultz and Mark Smith completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Ryan Kissinger, Larry Kelleher, Mike Walter, Duane Mausteller and Dan Mazy.

Jim Yoder got his first win of the season in the 20-lap, late-model feature. Jim Bernheisel finished second, with Kenny Trevitz, Andy Haus and Dylan Yoder in the top five.

Brad Mitch was the pro-stock winner and Brian Johnson won the roadrunner event.

Friday racing wiped out by rain: Friday racing at Williams Grove, Trailway, Hagerstown and Big Diamond was rained out.
