The semi-annual York Book and Paper Fair is back with more used books, rare books, comics, postcards, vinyl records and more from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 2000 Loucks Road, West Manchester Township. Warm body and soul with a taste of Nikki's Island & Soul Cuisine Caribbean food event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at YorKitchen, 37 W. Clarke Ave. (also accessible through Central Market near the Performance Kitchen). The menu features oxtail, jerk chicken, macaroni pie, double chocolate cake and other delights. Williams Grove Speedway will again try to open its racing season on Friday evening. The Grove has the sprint cars and super sportsmen lined up. The race will be the first of the season for the super sportsmen. Lincoln Speedway will shoot for its fifth show of the young season on Saturday. This week's schedule calls for a sprint-car championship event, with $4,000 for the winner. The 358 sprints and Legend cars are also on the slate.

Saturday will be a busy day at York College. The baseball team plays host to St. Mary's in a doubleheader, while the softball team has a twinbill vs. Salisbury. Both events start at 1 p.m. The men's lacrosse team will welcome Christopher Newport for a 3 p.m. match, while the men's tennis team will face Randolph Macon at 10 a.m.


Tickets to see Olympic gold medalist and women's soccer star Mia Hamm discuss "The Pursuit of Excellence" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at York College go on sale Thursday, March 28. The tickets are limited to two per person and may be picked up between 8:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the Student Activities office at the student union Thursday this week or Monday through Wednesday next week. Tickets to see "The Price is Right Live," a live version of the popular TV game show, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28.
